Fr John’s Run for Tariro
Dear all, thank you for your help by prayer, donations and encouragement. The big event is drawing near 22nd February is the day. I am registered for 60m, 200m, and 400m though the jury is still out as to whether I run all three. The event, held in the Lee Valley stadium, is the British Masters Athletics Championships (indoors) it is for contestants over 35 who will run in 10 year age groups. My group will be towards the higher age range! I am scared and excited. I have run in all Ireland, N. Ireland and Scotland competitions but this is my first time in the England event. I think that it will be tough but I am looking forward to it. I enjoy running irrespective of the result. I thank God who has given me such joy late in life and I thank Fr Nicolas whose tireless efforts to bring hope to the young people in Zimbabwe has given me the opportunity to give something back in thanksgiving for all the blessings that have come to me. https://cafdonate.cafonline.org/27360

Auction News
And another thing…
With Christmas behind us and the Athletic Masters just a couple of weeks ahead I’m beginning to give my attention to another big date in my diary – August 14th – The Grand Auction. Auctions are always great fun. They are an opportunity to do good by getting rid of things that you no longer need and to do even better by buying things that you have always wanted (even if sometimes you didn’t know that you wanted them). I have a lot of lovely and exciting things already but for a really successful auction I need a lot more. I have some stunning works of art, some lovely vestments, antique toys, a great collection of cinema annuals, and much more. I am looking for small things because I don’t have the room for furniture, most items of crockery don’t sell and I don’t have the same reserves of stamina that I once had. So please look for things like memorabilia, old jewellery, medals coins, stamps arts crafts and all things strange…. If in doubt send me a photograph (of the item – not a selfie!).
