Wishing you all a joyful feast of the Visitation to Blessed Mary, as we commemorate how mysterious it is that we are called to share joyfully in the vocation of an ordinary young woman from a n insignificant Palestinian town. We also approach the season for ordinations during June, on the feast of Ss. Peter and Paul, and so we give thanks for all people in their vocation and ministry, asking that we each may be “instruments of love.”
Do pray for the ordinands of the College of the Resurrection and of St Hild, to whom I am currently chaplain: may we all be made fit for the inheritance of Our Lord Jesus Christ who calls us to saintliness. Pray also for all offering themselves for public ministries in religious service, for readers, religious and all who serve God’s mission whatsoever as His Church.
Often, we neglect to populate the website with news, because we feel that there is little to say in what is the ordinary day-to-day of the community life at Mirfield, but Mary’s month of May, heralding as it does the green season of ‘Ordinary Time’, reminds us that God the Father has magnified the ordinary and glorified all that is his own. That is exemplified on this festal day of visitation. “[His] beauty is past change. Praise Him!”
